The child was evaluated by Dr. Sakshi Gupta, Associate Consultant, Pediatric Gastroenterology & Hepatology. In view of persistent hematemesis, an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy was performed, which revealed multiple small hemorrhagic spots involving the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum, along with inflammation and swelling of the mucosal lining. The findings suggested a widespread mucosal involvement rather than a localized source of bleeding.

Based on the clinical history and endoscopic findings, the child was diagnosed with hemorrhagic esophagogastroduodenitis, likely associated with a delayed complication following varicella infection. Appropriate management was initiated, and the child was monitored closely for recovery.
